12 Days- Gasa Hot Spring Trek

The actual trek is only for five days, but the entire trip which includes the journey from Paro to Gasa and back will take 11days. The tour duration can be shortened to 10 days for your convenience. This tour will take you from Paro to the capital Thimphu then to Punakha and through beautiful subtropical forest trails to Gasa and back.
Day 01 Arrive at Paro
You will be received by a representative of Kibou Bhutan Tours and Treks at the airport from where you will be driven to your hotel. Later in the day, after a visit to the Rinpung Dzong that is a 17th century fortress/monastery, which also houses the district administrative centre, the rest of the day may be spent at leisure with a stroll through the town. End the day with a welcome dinner back at the hotel.
Day 02 Paro (Sightseeing)
Drive to the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong in the morning to take in the view of the valley and other sights along the way such as the famous Tiger’s Den Monastery perched precariously upon a cliff and other temples and monasteries. In the afternoon visit the 7th century Kyichu Lhakhang (temple) and the National Museum which is housed in an ancient watch tower then stroll through a typical Bhutanese village and visit a farmhouse to experience the life of the local farmer with butter tea and local snacks. Return to the hotel for the night.
Day 03 Paro – Thimphu
Drive to Thimphu in the morning; check in at the hotel and after lunch visit Zilukha Nunnery, the National Library, the Memorial Chorten and the Textile Museum. In the evening take a leisurely stroll through the town and shop for souvenirs.
Day 04 Thimphu – Punakha
After breakfast, start our journey to Punakha with a brief visit to the Simtokha Dzong the oldest Dzong. Arrive at Punakha after a brief stop at Dochula for refreshments and to view the northern mountain ranges.  We could either camp for the night at Punakha or check into a hotel
Day 05 Punakha – Tashithang Goen – Damji
The vehicles will drop us to the starting point of the trek at Tashithang from where we trek for for about 16 kms through beautiful subtropical forests to our camp at Goen Damji
Day 06 Goen Damji – Tsachu
The trail climbs gradually until Gayza village from where we get an excellent view of the Gasa Dzong. The trail then descends all the way until we arrive at the Tsachu (Hot Spring).
Day 07 Goen Tsachu (Halt)
After breakfast we could either hike up to the Gasa Dzong which takes about an hour or we could walk around the Tsachu area.
Day 08 Tsachu – Goen Damji
We now retrace our steps as we climb the trail to Gayza village and tehn descend to Goen Damji where we camp for the night
Day 09 Goen Damji – Tashithang – Punakha
The trail descends gradually till we arrive at the road head at Tashithang where we board our vehicles for the drive back to Punakha. We can either camp by the river or check into a hotel once we arrive at Punakha
Day 10 Punakha – Paro
After a visit to the Punakha Dzong in the morning, we begin our journey back to Paro. We stop for lunch at Thimphu then continue to Paro.
Day 11 Paro
After an early breakfast, pack our lunches and hike up to the famous Taktsang Monastery, translated as the Tiger’s Den, which is perched precariously on the ledge of a 1000 m granite cliff.
Day 12 Paro (Departure)
Drive to the airport for your onward journey home.
